Description

The IMS 8510-1 Measurement System is the central data acquisition and evaluation unit in the DRELLO Ballistics ecosystem. It captures signals from ballistic sensors, evaluates them and documents the results. This makes the IMS 8510-1 the link between sensor technology (LS 30i and optical sensors) and the actual ballistic analysis — from velocity and rate-of-fire measurement through to fuze running time and tandem delay.

Use with sensors

The IMS 8510-1 is matched to combined operation with the sensors of the DRELLO family:

  • IR Precision Light Barrier LS 30i — measurement of projectile velocity and rate of fire for calibers 4–150 mm
  • Optical Sensor OS 615 — capture of the fuze running time of explosive projectiles over distances up to 5,000 m
  • Optical Sensor OS 616 — measurement of the delay between the first and second charge in tandem ammunition

According to the catalog, gas pressure measurements at the ATD 1055 ammunition test device are captured and evaluated via the Intelligent Measurement System IMS 8500.
